2. The Chicks – ‘Gaslighter’
Sam Hunt’s album was the longest wait we’ve had – that title goes to The Chicks! ‘Gaslighter’ has been a long-time coming (made even longer by the pandemic) but good lord is it great to have this trio back. Frontwoman Natalie Maines poured her grief and heartbreak into the record, and the end result is a fiery and tear-jerking confessional about betrayal, divorce and moving on. ‘Sleep At Night’, ‘Tights On My Boat’ and ‘Set Me Free’ are just some of the powerful tracks on the record.
