Blindspot 2×11 Droll Autumn, Unmutual Lord preview

On the latest episode of Blindspot, the team faced a race against time to find Patterson (Ashley Johnson).

At the end of last episode a gunshot rang out but we were unsure if it was Patterson or the traitorous Dr. Borden (Ukweli Roach) who had taken the bullet. It was revealed that it was Patterson who had been shot and that Dr. Borden took her back to Sandstorm for medical treatment.

Patterson was patched up and Dr. Borden convinced Shepherd (Michelle Hurd) to keep her alive. He felt they could interrogate her and use her skills against the FBI. However Patterson put up a fight and resisted Shepherd’s torture, including needles in her ears!

In the end Shepherd realised she wouldn’t break Patterson and decided it was time to kill her. Dr. Borden asked that he be the one to do it and Shepherd agreed. He began prepping a lethal injection to put her to sleep.

Meanwhile Jane (Jaimie Alexander) tried to get Roman (Luke Mitchell) back to the FBI after wiping his memory with Zip. A confused Roman decided that his injuries must have been caused by Jane so he attacked her and escaped.

The FBI decided to try and track him down in the hope he would lead them to Patterson. At the same time Sandstorm was also out looking for him. Sandstorm found him first but he sensed something wrong and killed several of their men. Jane and Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) arrived in time to save him and took him into custody.

Back at the FBI they pushed him for answers but he couldn’t remember anything. Zapata (Audrey Esparza) spent time hacking a phone from one of Sandstorm’s men and was able to determine the location of Patterson.

They got there just in time to save Patterson but Dr. Borden escaped. Weller gave chase but discovered that Dr. Borden is actually rather skilled in melee combat. Dr. Borden managed to handcuff one of Weller’s arms to his own leg and escaped.

Elsewhere in the episode, Director Pellington (Dylan Baker) decided to fire Nas (Archie Panjabi) for the fatal raid on Sandstorm last episode. Weller later threatened to quit unless she was reinstated and that they were able to stop Roman going to the CIA for enhanced interrogation. Pellington reluctantly stood down.

Reade (Rob Brown) was still recovering from his surgery and had Zapata fussing over him. He misinterpreted her friendship and kissed her but was rejected and she left him alone.

At the end of the episode, a recovering Patterson couldn’t keep away from her work and managed to decrypt some Sandstorm files. She found the original draft of Jane’s tattoos including a prominent one which didn’t make it onto her body.

The next episode is Droll Autumn, Unmutual Lord and here’s the official synopsis:

After one of the world’s most-wanted terrorists surfaces in New York, the team must partner with the CIA to stop a deadly bombing.
