3. ‘If It Makes You Happy’
The first single from 1996’s ‘Sheryl Crow’, ‘If It Makes You Happy’ marked a sharp change in sound for Crow moving away from the blues/soul/rock of her debut album. The song, and the album it came from, leaned heavier into rock and fans really got to hear Crow’s voice at its most powerful. Edgier and more in-your-face than anything she’d done up to this point, ‘If It Makes You Happy’ is a definite catalogue highlight.
