3. ‘A League Of Their Own’
‘A League of Their Own’ came out in 1992 and it’s a film that doesn’t really get the respect or attention it deserves. A fictional account of the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, the film is a heartfelt drama directed by Penny Marshall. Madonna had to bring her A-game to fit in alongside Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Lori Petty, Bill Pullman and Rosie O’Donnell. Playing center field player Mae Mordabito, Madonna showcased her knack for comedy and she made the character one of the standouts in the film. Let’s not forget she also served up ‘This Used To Be My Playground’ for the soundtrack.
