7. Will Steve and Kate tackle Hastings about the money given to Steph Corbett?
Arnott became suspicous of Hastings after seeing him talk with Steph Corbett. After a couple of visits to Steph, Arnott stayed the night. He managed to carry out an unauthorised search of her home and found a stash of cash in her loft.
A forensic examination of the money revealed it was linked to the money from a previous series. There was a dispute about how much money there was but a suspected missing £50k appears to have been taken by Hastings to give to Steph.
Arnott told Fleming about the find but it currently seems more likely that Hastings felt guilty about the murder of Steph’s husband John Corbett (Stephen Graham). Lee Banks (Alastair Natkiel) told Arnott that it was Hastings who leaked information about John Corbett.
