Axe (Damian Lewis) kept his promise and did whatever it took to help Chuck’s (Paul Giamatti) chances of winning the election for Attorney General for New York. However, he almost pulled out due to Black Jack Foley (David Strathairn) promising to publicly out his love of sadomasochism.

Chuck discovered that Foley had terminal cancer with just weeks left to live. This meant he had nothing to lose. He spoke with Wendy (Maggie Siff) and she said he would have to pull out of the election.

However, Chuck changed his mind at his press conference and instead decided to tell the truth. It did the job and won him the election but may well have destroyed his marriage.

At Axe Cap, a cyber attack as a natural gas disaster was about to hit nearly cost Axe dearly. He knew Andolov (John Malkovich) was behind it and Taylor (Asia Kate Dillion) took advantage of the situation.

Axe and Wags (David Costabile) went old school and made trades direct with the traders via burner phones. They were in their element and managed to severely reduce the size of the loss.

Once Chuck became the AG, Axe cashed in the promised favour. He had Chuck basically force Andolov to leave the country. Axe spoke to him before he left and tried to keep things on ok terms.
