Timeless 1×07 Stranded preview

Flynn (Goran Višnjić) headed back to 1972 to find the missing gap in the Watergate tapes on the latest episode of Timeless.

Upon arriving, Lucy (Abigail Spencer), Wyatt (Matt Lanter) and Rufus (Malcolm Barrett) were captured by Flynn. He played them a recording of Nixon talking about Rittenhouse and revealed that he and Lucy had spoken on several occasions during their past missions.

Blackmailing them, Flynn let Lucy and Rufus go so they could find a missing ‘doc’ in exchange for Wyatt’s life. It was soon revealed that the ‘doc’ was actually a person and Rufus had been ordered to destroy her by contacting someone in 1972. Lucy found out about Rufus’ orders, pushing a wedge between the two.

Meanwhile Flynn revealed details of the murder of his wife and daughter to Wyatt, claiming that Rittenhouse were behind it. Wyatt listened as Flynn read excerpts of Lucy’s future diary, where she discussed Wyatt’s obsession with his dead wife.

Lucy and Rufus came up with a plan to inform both Rittenhouse and Flynn where the ‘doc’ was located to create a diversion so they could get her to safety with the help of the Black Liberation Army. That also gave them an opportunity to rescue Wyatt so they could all safely travel back to the present day.

Wyatt was angry with both Lucy and Rufus for being dishonest with him but he instructed Rufus to continue acting as a double agent so as not to arouse Rittenhouse’s suspicions.

At the end of the episode Lucy sought out her biological father Benajmin Cahill (John Getz), unaware that he works for Rittenhouse and is the agent threatening Rufus.

The next episode of the season is Stranded. The team follow Garcia Flynn to 1754 and have to scramble through hostile territory. Agent Christopher investigates Connor Mason.
