Hit action-drama Banshee will return for a fourth season in 2016 it has been confirmed.
The Cinemax show is currently airing its third season in the US and is expected to return in the UK to Sky Atlantic HD over the summer. The fourth season of the show will comprise of 8 episodes rather than the usual 10. There’s been no reason given for the shortened episode count as of yet.
Banshee stars Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Lili Simmons and Hoon Lee. The show tells the story of a con man (Starr) who impersonates the Sheriff of Banshee after he witnesses the real Sheriff’s murder before he starts the job. Known as Hood, Banshee explores the con man’s dark past and his connection to Banshee resident Carrie Hopewell (Milicevic).
At the end of the second season Rebecca (Simmons) murdered the Kinaho tribe leader Alex Longshadow (Anthony Ruivivar) and Hood and Carrie finally got rid of the threat of Rabbit (Ben Cross).
Whilst we’re glad the show is coming back for a fourth season we’re a bit gutted about the shortened season. Hopefully it’s not going to be the last one!
