Troilus and Cressida

We can exclusively announce, on William Shakespeare’s (probable) birthday, that classical repertory troupe Lazarus Theatre Company are to return with a production of his play Troilus and Cressida, which will be adapted and directed by Ricky Dukes. It will be performed at the Tristan Bates Theatre as part of the Camden Fringe theatre festival this autumn.

Troilus and Cressida will play from Monday 18th through to Saturday 23rd August as part of the Camden Fringe, and extend its run from Monday 25th to Saturday 6th August, with the shows starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets will be available soon through the Tristan Bates Theatre website.

Following last year’s sell out production of The Tragedy of Mariam, Lazarus are delighted to be returning to the Tristan Bates Theatre and to the Camden Fringe.

Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida concerns two young lovers who are thrust into the tempest of war where their love is tested, punished and ultimately torn. The theme of the motives of conflict and the effect upon those in the eye of the storm is a timely one, and is set to come to the stage in a fresh and bold new adaptation.

The award-winning Lazarus Theatre Company is committed to producing the best in classical theatre for a modern audience.

Casting for Troilus and Cressida is to be announced soon.
