It’s just over 12 hours until Game of Thrones returns to TV screens around the world for a fourth season.

We do our best to avoid major spoilers but if you want everything to be a surprise we suggest you stop reading now.

Normally UK fans have to wait a day to catch up on the action but this year we are getting a simultaneous broadcast with the US. At 2am tomorrow (Monday 7th April) Game of Thrones season 4 will be broadcast on Sky Atlantic HD so that UK fans can watch at the same time as HBO’s East Coast transmission.

As an added bonus Sky have also confirmed that the show will be broadcast with no adverts. If you don’t fancy staying up so late or fall asleep before it starts don’t worry as it will be repeated at 9pm in the evening.

Game of Thrones season 4 – Official trailer

The season four premiere is titled Two Swords and the official synopsis reads:
Tyrion welcomes a guest to King’s Landing. At Castle Black, Jon Snow finds himself unwelcome. Dany is pointed to Meereen, the mother of all slave cities. Arya runs into an old friend.
Two Swords is written and directed by showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. As with any Game of Thrones episode we’re expecting an hour of non-stop action, humour, twists and turns. A show famous for its huge cast managed to trim down the numbers quite significantly last season. While all the surviving characters will return season four is going to be introducing plenty more right from the beginning.

We’ve learnt not to expect even our favourite characters to survive and wonder who will be with us at the end of this season. One thing we’re really looking forward to is seeing how Danys dragons are getting on. From what we’ve seen so far they are growing up fast and the CGI effects look to be superb.

Let us know who your favourite characters are and your expectations for season four in the comments below. Check back tomorrow for our recap on Game of Thrones season 4 Two Swords.
