Virgin Media have commissioned some more research to find out what the top festive trigger is.
Coming out on top was Coca Cola’s Holidays are Coming advert with 1 in 3 Brits rating the ad in first place. It was closely followed by Raymond Briggs’ classic The Snowman.
Others featuring in the Top 10 include the festive classic It’s a Wonderful Life, the John Lewis advert and a selection of other Christmas films.
The top ten TV shows, films or ads that get us feeling Christmassy are:
1. Coca-Cola advert (33%)
2. The Snowman (24%)
3. John Lewis advert (20%)
4. Miracle on 34th Street (19%)
5. Home Alone (18%)
6. Elf (15%)
7. Marks & Spencer advert (14%)
8. Santa Claus the Movie (13%)
9. It’s a Wonderful Life (13%)
10. White Christmas (11%)
Scott Kewley, director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, said: “Everyone looks forward to Christmas telly. For me, no Christmas is complete without Home Alone in the build-up to the big day and then to have a good adventure movie to put your feet up to on Boxing Day. Whether you want to watch Bear and Hare on the way home or stream Star Wars on your tablet whilst the family watches Elf on the main screen, it can all be made possible with technology like Virgin Media TiVo and Virgin TV Anywhere.”
