‘Neighbours’ fans can look forward to their festive fix of episodes this year as the soap will be airing new episodes across the Christmas season for the first time in years.
Ahead of the Christmas episodes, a teaser has been released that promises plenty of drama and not very much festive joy. We’ve closely examined the teaser and picked out 5 key storylines that fans can look out for.

1. Chloe and Elly’s wedding
Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) and Elly Conway (Jodi Gordon) will be tying the knot after their whirlwind engagement. Officiated by Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne), of course, the two love-birds have fast-tracked their relationship after Chloe started showing Huntington’s symptoms. She tried to give Elly an out, but after a bit of consideration, Elly decided she wanted to fully commit. Will it go without a hitch? It’s doubtful as this is ‘Neighbours’ after all.
2. Mackenzie, Haz and Hollie’s love triangle to come to a head
Haz (Shiv Palekar) has been romancing Hollie (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) the past few weeks but does he really have feelings for Mackenzie (Georgie Stone)? The two house-mates have secretly been pining for each other for a while but Mackenzie finally came out and told Haz that she wanted to be with him. Byron (Xavier Molyneux) told Hollie what was going on, which has sent her into a paranoid spiral. Will Haz and Mackenzie go behind Hollie’s back and start an affair? We’d say it’s highly likely!
3. Krista to severe ties with David
Krista Sinclair (Majella Davis) has caused quite a stir since she turned out to be very much alive and now she’s back from rehab and pregnant, it looks like she’s getting her life back on track. Key to that has been David (Takaya Honda) as her sober coach but Remi (Naomi Rukavina) has been going out of her way to get Krista away from David after learning that he was struck off following his part in a manslaughter case. In the teaser, Krista is seen telling David to go so does this mean she’s going to go off the rails again?
4. Paul to hatch yet more plans to get Terese back
We feel very uneasy about this Paul (Stefan Dennis) and Nicolette (Hannah Monson) alliance and a short glimpse of the two together suggests more plot hatching might be in the works. Nicolette has promised to help Paul get back into David’s good books but could she be about to help Paul with his plan to win Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou) back?
5. Karl to sing a Christmas song
Karl (Alan Fletcher) is seen holding a guitar and talking about a Christmas single while Susan echoes all of our sentiments by looking thoroughly miserable at the thought. Will Karl be singing his way through the festive season. It looks like it!
