The final season of Game of Thrones has been building towards an epic showdown at Winterfell between the living and the dead. Episode 1 focused on getting the majority of the main characters there, while episode 2 was all about getting prepared for battle. HBO have released 6 photos ahead of episode 3 and while they don’t really give much away we couldn’t be more excited.

The third episode is set to run for 82 minutes, making it the longest ever episode of Game of Thrones. The Battle of Winterfell is said to feature the longest battle scene ever committed to film. We’d be lying if we said we weren’t more than a little nervous as the death toll could well be horrendous. It could be the end of many of our favorite characters.

Even if they aren’t victorious, our main wish is that the living put up one hell of a fight. We’re hoping to see Arya (Maisie Williams) put her new Dragonglass spear to good use, Jon/Aegon (Kit Harington) showing off his new dragon riding skills and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie), Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Jorah (Iain Glen), Tormund (Kristofer Hivju), Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) and Podrick (Daniel Portman) making the dead with they’d left the Wall alone.
