New tune Meditation from Pistol Mcfly ahead of album release

Pistol Mcfly has been making waves in the LA rap scene for a while now. He has spent most of his life navigating the violent streets of South Central with many of his childhood friends now dead or in prison.

Meditation is taken from the forthcoming Road Trip album which will be released on Dirty Science Records on 26th April.

In Pistol Mcfly’s own words:

“The song is about staying true to myself in the midst of life in South L.A. Hustling to live, seeing friends get sidetracked, me trying to focus on my art, keeping it together to be able to bring my art to the people without giving up and losing my sanity. Ironically enough, it’s finally happening. If you’re reading this then my music will be heard. My only hope is you can find inspiration in it to keep your own personal hopes alive”

This was my first time hearing Pistol Mcfly and I can safely say that I am now a fan. I was immediately reminded of Blu and Exile upon hearing this track and wasn’t surprised to hear that he’s actually been touring with them.

“For the last few years, Pistol Mcfly has been one of LA’s brightest and most elusive talents, but on Road Trip he fulfils his long-awaited promise with a poignant saga of warped soul: equally ruminative and virtuosic, melancholic but triumphant. It’s the sound of life thoughtfully being lived, by an artist adept at looking into the rear view mirror and into the far-off distance.” – Jeff Weiss (Passion Weiss)
