As J’onn (David Harewood) and the DEO saved Supergirl’s (Melissa Benoist) life, the back story of Ben Lockwood (Sam Witwer) aka Agent Liberty was revealed on the latest episode of Supergirl.
University professor Lockwood and his family suffered a series of personal tragedies that turned them against co-existing with aliens. As his anger and frustration grew, Lockwood came into contact with Mercy (Rhona Mitra) and Otis (Robert Baker) Graves.
The encouraged him to fight back against aliens and gave him his Agent Liberty armour.
In the present day Lockwood stopped Otis and Mercy from killing the DEO agent that helped them escape.
Elsewhere Supergirl’s life was saved by Lena (Katie McGrath) who put her in a prototype armour that kept kryptonite out of her system.
The next episode of the season is Ahimsa. When Supergirl needs help, Alex asks Lena and Brainiac to team up; J’onn questions his decision to quit the DEO, but after running into Manchester Black he realises there are a lot of ways to help his fellow aliens.
