The second episode of The Walking Dead season 9 was set around a month after the season premiere.

If you’re not up to date with The Walking Dead and like to avoid spoilers we suggest you don’t read any further.

Rick (Andrew Lincoln) led the communities in coming together to repair the bridge. Sanctuary provided most of the labour as per Maggie’s (Lauren Cohan) request. She was holding up her end of the bargain to provide food from Hilltop as she waited for fuel from Sanctuary. She later softened her stance after a visit from Michonne (Danai Gurira) and a talk from Jesus (Tom Payne).

Tensions were high at the construction site with Saviours going missing. Daryl wasn’t happy with Justin (Zach McGowan) and took his frustrations out on him using his fists. Rick tried to keep the peace but things turned bad when they failed to redirect a Walker herd.

Aaron (Ross Marquand) had his arm crushed in the chaos forcing Enid (Katelyn Nacon) to amputate. Justin was banished and later abducted by an unseen enemy.

Elsewhere, Rick updated the incarcerated Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) on their progress but was given an ominous warning in return.

The next episode is Warning Signs. Rick’s vision for the future is threatened by a mysterious disappearance that divides the work camp where the communities are building a bridge.
