Joe Thomas (The Inbetweeners) is teaming up with the award-winning creators of The Inbetweeners once again for new comedy The Festival.

Thomas stars in the movie alongside Hammed Animashaun (Black Mirror), Claudia O’Doherty (Trainwreck), Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) and Hannah Tointon (Mr Selfridge). The Festival is the first comedy feature film release from production company Fudge Park, formed by The Inbetweeners writers and executive producers Iain Morris and Damon Beesley.

When Nick’s (Joe Thomas) girlfriend dumps him at graduation, he has a colossal meltdown in front of the entire university. He’s convinced his life is over, but his best mate Shane (Hammed Animashaun) has the perfect solution: three days at an epic music festival. With the help of “festival aficionado” and certified oddball Amy (Emmy AwardÒ nominee Claudia O’Doherty), Shane tries to get Nick to embrace the music, the mayhem and the mud.

The teaser trailer for the film is hilarious. From Nick waking up in the back of someone’s car with a new nipple ring and wearing bright pink spandex, to someone peeing on his face and his crotch being grabbed while crowd-surfing, the film looks like a laugh a minute.

Add to that a bizarre stripping moment and a festival goer, quite possibly off his tits, declaring that Nick looks like Harry Potter and The Festival has all the makings of comedy gold.

The Festival is directed by Iain Morris and written by Keith Akushie and Joe Parham (Siblings). The film is produced by Claire Jones (Ghost Stories) for Fudge Park, developed and backed by Film4 and Entertainment Film Distributors.

It will be released in cinemas across the UK by Entertainment Film Distributors on 17th August 2018.
