Scandal 5×21 That’s My Girl preview

Mellie (Bellamy Young) claimed victory on the latest episode of Scandal.

After a long campaign, Mellie emerged victorious as the Republican Presidental candidate. Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Abby (Darby Stanchfield) joined forces to take down Hollis (Gregg Henry) by exposing his true colours to the world via a secret video Olivia filmed during a private meeting with him.

Olivia and Abby then held a meeting with Mellie and Susan (Artemis Pebdani) and other key parties to exchange the dirt they had on each other. Olivia exposed David (Joshua Malina) and Liz’s (Portia de Rossi) shady dealings forcing Susan to drop out of the race. Abby chose not to use the information she had been given by Rowan (Joe Morton) about Olivia’s abortion but she did come clean to her about it.

Elsewhere Edison (Norm Lewis) took bad advice from Olivia resulting in him accidentally handing the Democratic nomination to Vargas (Ricardo Chavira). Jake (Scott Foley) appealed to Edison for help to get out from under Rowan’s thumb. There was also a spark between Mellie and Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr) that saw them almost kiss.

The season finale is That’s My Girl. As each presidential candidate gets ready to announce their running mate, Olivia finds herself in a potentially dire situation. Meanwhile, Cyrus is presented with damaging information that could alter the presidential race entirely.
