Following popular demand, Grassroots Shakespeare have added an extra two weeks to their run of Twelfth Night at Leicester Square Theatre.
The production stars Ellie Nunn, daughter of Shakespearean legend Sir Trevor Nunn, making her West End Shakespeare debut in the role of Viola. The role was memorably played by her mother, Imogen Stubbs in the 1996 film directed by Sir Trevor. Joining Ellie is John Pickard, star of Hollyoaks and Two Point Four Children, who will play the comedy lead of Sir Toby Belch, and Tamaryn Payne, who was Off West End Award-nominated as Best Supporting Actress at the Park Theatre in 2015.
Artistic Director and Producer Siobhan Daly said: “We are thrilled and honoured that we have had to add an extra two weeks. We are passionate about performing Shakespeare and we can’t wait to join our audiences in celebrating Shakespeare 400 from London’s West End.”
Grassroots is well known for its high quality performances, its Original Practices methods and their shows being devised fresh by each new ensemble. They produce stripped back, textually rigorous and fun productions to engage with all audiences. Their production of Othello starring Ian Charleson Award nominee Nari Blair-Mangat and James Alexandrou sold out at Leicester Square Theatre.
