Breaking up the family

Evelyn (Rebecca Wisocky) and Adrian (Tom Irwin) asked Deion (Isaac Ryan Brown) if he wanted to live with them permanently. Just as the young boy agreed to be adopted, Adrian was summoned to the phone by Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) who informed him that his private investigator was on the phone. Adrian told the investigator to stop trying to find Deion’s biological father but found out it was too late as the boy’s father wanted to meet his son.

Adrian confessed all to Carmen and got her to agree to pretend to be Evelyn so they could get rid of Deion’s father without his wife knowing about it. During their chat they decided to cast a child actor as Deion to try and fool the boy’s biological father after sending Evelyn and Deion to Paris on a surprise trip. Deion’s father arrived and Adrian and Carmen tried to pull the wool over his eyes.

Things soon went pear shaped when Evelyn and Deion returned unexpectedly and Deion’s father finally met his real son. Carmen tried to save the day by revealing to Deion’s father that she gave her baby away but it didn’t change his mind. Deion left with his father leaving a devastated Evelyn in tears on her doorstep. Upset by what had happened Carmen went to visit Sebastien (Gilles Marini).

Bad blood

After putting Katy (Grecia Merino) to bed, Rosie tackled Taylor about the stains she found on the sofa cushions. Taylor brushed it off as red wine stains but Rosie didn’t buy her story. In a bid to prove her theory, Rosie went to visit Marisol with a photo of the stain she found on the sofa. Marisol tried to brush it off but the more Rosie pushed the subject, the more Marisol started to suspect her friend may be right. Marisol told Rosie that Olivia (Valerie Mahaffey) had paid a man to seduce Taylor. The women then hatched up a plan to test the stain to find out if it’s blood or not.

Rosie went back to the Stappord house with the chemical she needed to test for blood. She was shocked to find that Taylor had replaced all of the furniture and Rosie shared the news with the other maids. Rosie suggested that Taylor might be a murderer but Marisol was having none of it. As the women talked Marisol recalled Taylor’s house being a mess the morning after her book party, which was the morning that the body parts were found.

Marisol took Taylor out for dinner and tried to get information out of her about her affair. Taylor shut down when Marisol kept pushing her for information and she reacted angrily. The two women had a tense row before Taylor stormed off leaving Marisol no further in her investigation. For her next move Marisol went to the place that Taylor sent her old sofa to and found the stained cushion. She tested the stain and found that it was blood. Marisol shared her findings with Rosie after taking the sofa home.

Kidnapping Katy

Ernesto (Cristian de la Fuente) and Hector (Antonio Jaramillo) continued to plot Katy’s kidnapping as the former tried to cut his ties with the cartel. After getting intimate, Ernesto got Rosie chatting about Katy and discovered that she would be babysitting her alone the next night. He asked if he could come along before tipping off Hector. Whilst they were babysitting Ernesto distracted Rosie so that Hector could get into the house. Hector managed to get his hands on Katy but she fought him off and alerted Rosie to what was going on. Ernesto went into Katy’s room and told Hector to leave before lying to Rosie about what had happened.

Following the kidnap attempt Taylor came clean to Rosie about the murder of Katy’s father and the death of her mother. She claimed that they took Katy to keep her safe and admitted that she smuggled her out. Taylor then confirmed that the criminals after Katy were the drug cartel in Mexico. An upset Rosie confronted Ernesto and put the pieces together about Ernesto’s involvement with the cartel. Ernesto told Rosie the truth and admitted that he’d lied about being a prisoner. He also told her about his part in Katy’s attempted kidnapping.

Hector stopped by to see Ernesto and told him that he’d taken care of Spence (Grant Show). After Hector threatened to hurt Rosie, Ernesto killed him.

Hire me!

After parting ways with Genevieve (Susan Lucci), Zoila (Judy Reyes) appealed to Marisol for help finding a new job. Marisol reluctantly agreed to get her a job with her frenemy Gail (Julie Claire) but warned Zoila that Gail wasn’t an easy person to work with. On her first day on the job Zoila had to repeatedly tell Gail how to pronounce her name and was given a stern list of rules. Zoila gave as good as she got when Gail got a bit snarky and impressed her new employer.

After serving a few cocktails for Gail, Zoila discovered that Gail had an issue with the neighbours’ dog barking in the yard all the time. She knocked on the neighbours’ door and used her pregnancy as an excuse to ask her to keep the dog’s noise down. When she revealed that she was working for Gail, Zoila found out that the neighbour hated her and she refused to do anything about it. Later the neighbour came round looking for her dog and Zoila discovered that Gail had taken the dog to a shelter to get revenge.

Zoila rescued the neighbours’ dog and convinced her to adopt a yappy little dog too. Gail was furious so Zoila gave her a bottle of wine and quit.

Teething issues

Genevieve and Joy (Joy Osmanski) didn’t get off to a great start when Joy failed to cater to her employer’s needs. After being asked for help picking a dress, Joy struggled and was upset when Genevieve told her to be more like Zoila. She made matters worse when she insulted Joy’s hair and brought up old wounds about the death of her mother. The end result was Joy rushing out of the room in tears.

Dr. Neff (John O’Hurley) talked to Genevieve about upsetting Joy and when she started to say she was missing Zoila he skirted around the issue. Genevieve took Joy for dinner and tried to bond with her. Her goodwill gestures weren’t taken well and Joy told her she didn’t deserve the gifts. Joy came clean about what Dr. Neff was up to and Genevieve found out that Zoila had been pushed out in an evil plan conjured up by the doctor. After finding out the truth Genevieve threw Dr. Neff out of the house.

Genevieve met up with Zoila and apologised to her about the way she behaved. Zoila wasn’t ready to forgive her and dropped a few home truths. Genevieve suggested that they go to therapy to work through their issues and told her that she wanted her back in the house.
