Penny Dreadful renewed for season 3

Penny Dreadful has been renewed for a third season it has been announced.

The show will return in 2016 for a nine-episode season – that’s one episode shorter than the current season and one more than the first season – and will once again shoot on location in Dublin, Ireland.

In a statement Showtime Networks Inc. President David Nevins said, “John Loganā€™s brilliant writing and this amazingly talented ensemble continue to draw a passionate, global fan base into the meticulously crafted world of Penny Dreadful. Together with our wonderful partners at Sky Atlantic, weā€™re excited to see what new haunts John and his team have in store for Season 3.”

At this point it’s unknown which members of the cast will be returning as we’re only part way through the show’s second season. We would assume it’s a safe bet that Eva Green, Timothy Dalton and Josh Hartnett will be back though!

Penny Dreadful currently airs on Sky Atlantic HD on Tuesdays at 10pm in the UK.
