Sam Smith waved the flag for British music last night at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards picking up 4 of the 6 awards he was nominated for.
The global star picked up the awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album. Smith’s debut album In The Lonely Hour has been a huge hit across the globe and to date has sold over 2.5 million copies.
Other big winners on the night included Beck who picked up Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for his album Morning Phase, and Roseanne Cash who took home three awards – Best American Roots Performance, Best American Roots Song and Best Americana Album.
Performances on the night included Madonna, who performed Living For Love live for the first time, Katy Perry, Pharrell Williams, Ariana Grande, and the first live performance of FourFiveSeconds from Rihanna, Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney.
