For a season thatās been so far packed with plenty of action, murder and twists, tonightās episode of Banshee was surprisingly low key. Over the hour Lucas picked up Carrie from prison where she had just been released following her 30-day sentence. Unsure what home held for her, Carrie agreed to spend some time with Lucas and the checked out a town on their way back to Banshee that seemed idyllic and peaceful.
At the town Lucas became suspicious that someone was following them and after investigating a suspicious car found out it belonged to an innocent woman who had just been buying groceries. After their short and relatively happy stop, Lucas and Carrie continued on their journey back to Banshee and Lucas decided to take them on a detour.
Pulling up at a house in the middle of nowhere, Lucas revealed it was a house heād bought for him and Carrie years earlier before he was imprisoned. The two went inside to explore and the scenes were cut with happy images of how life could have been for the two of them. They spent a night camped by the fireplace and upon waking the next morning Lucas spotted someone watching them from afar.
He went out to investigate and found Agent Racine (Zeljko Ivanek) who was watching them through binoculars. Taking him back to the house, Lucas interrogated him and soon found out that Racine knew that Lucas wasnāt who he said he was. He assured Lucas he didnāt care who he was or what heād done and wanted to strike a deal to take down Rabbit (Ben Cross). Before the conversation could progress further a bullet came through the window and killed Racine.
Lucas and Carrie took cover whilst bullets were fired throughout the house. They ran outside and crawled through the cornfields trying to find the shooter. Lucas got the shooterās attention then Carrie distracted her before shooting her to the ground. On closer inspection the shooter was revealed to be the woman Lucas had run into in the town earlier and she was an assassin working for Rabbit.
As Lucas finished off the job and killed the woman, the house he owned burned to the ground whilst he and Carrie looked on helplessly.
The two then jumped back in the car and Lucas dropped Carrie at a motel in Banshee. He then returned to Sugarās (Frankie Faison) bar and had a heart-to-heart where he decided he couldnāt leave Banshee even though it would be better for everyone in his life.
Banshee continues Monday at 10.15pm on Sky Atlantic HD.
