Blondie and Chrissie Hynde are the first artists announced for this year’s BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park.
The event will return on unsay 14th September 2014 and the two iconic performers have certainly kicked the line-up reveal off with plenty of star power.
Chris Evans made the announcement on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning. He will continue to reveal acts each morning for the rest of this week.
Jeff Smith, Head of Music, Radio 2 and 6 Music, said, “Another year and another stellar line-up come together for a day of fantastic music which showcases the range and diversity of music provided by Radio 2 – the nation’s favourite radio station. And what better way to say goodbye to the summer than a music fuelled day out with friends and family?”
Last year’s event saw 40,000 people attend to watch artists such as Smokey Robinson, Jessie J, Manic Street Preachers and James Blunt perform.
