Season two of The Following will air 1 day after its US premiere on Sky Atlantic HD.
The hit psychological thriller stars Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy. The first season ended with an intense face-off between FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon) and serial killer Joe Carroll (Purefoy) after a cat-and-mouse chase.
The synopsis for the second season is:
The Following will catch up with Ryan in the wake of a horrific new murder spree. The FBI calls on him and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) to speak with the lone survivor, Lily (Connie Nielsen), in order to help them solve the case. Ryan is reluctant to re-engage with the FBI, but finds a valuable ally in his niece, Max (Jessica Stroup), an NYPD cop working in the Intel Division. As the investigation proceeds, Ryan crosses paths with several complicated individuals, including Luke (Sam Underwood) and Mandy Lang (Tiffany Boone), which furthers his suspicion that Joe Carroll’s reign of terror is far from over.
The Following will return to Sky Atlantic HD on Tuesday 21st January at 10pm.
