The Marcus King Band have unveiled the music video for their new single Goodbye Carolina.
The ballad is taken from the band’s acclaimed album Carolina Confessions and arrives ahead of their UK headline shows this June. Watch the video below:
Goodbye Caroline is directed by Tess Lafia and was shot in Nashville.
“With all my material, I like the listener to draw their own conclusion as to the meaning of the lyrics; I want the song to be what it means to you,ā Marcus remarks. āThat being said, āGoodbye Carolinaā came to me in a daydream, an apparition of a dear songwriter friend we had lost only a year prior. I wrote from his perspective, and often feel the song was written through me. The lyrics simultaneously describe my need to break out and escape the bad memories, loss and pain associated with my hometown, using the state as a personification of things I decided to leave behind.ā
The Marcus King Band is: guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Marcus King, drummer Jack Ryan, bassist Stephen Campbell, trumpeter/trombonist Justin Johnson, sax player Dean Mitchell and keyboard player DeShawn āD-Vibesā Alexander.
