Harleymoon Kemp unveils new EP ‘Lone Ranger’ with soulful ‘What Good Looks Like’

Harleymoon Kemp has already achieved notable success early in her career, including a UK country #1 hit with ‘Space’ and winning the prestigious Horizon Award for Best New Artist at the British Country Music Awards. With festival performances at renowned events like the Isle of Wight and C2C under her belt, Kemp is now poised to reach new heights with the upcoming release of her debut EP, ‘Lone Ranger’, set to drop on May 31st. Last Friday she gave fans a taste of what’s to come by sharing the EP’s lead single, ‘What Good Looks Like’. Listen here.

‘What Good Looks Like’ showcases Kemp’s exceptional songwriting talent, even in its most stripped-back form. With graceful control and raw emotional vulnerability, Kemp celebrates the strength that comes from knowing oneself and what one deserves in a relationship. The song also acknowledges the significant influence of family in shaping one’s hopes and expectations for the future.

Reflecting on her inspiration for the song, Kemp shares, “My parents showed me what a loving relationship looks like, which has set a high bar for me in my own romantic endeavours. They’ve taught me the value of true friendship, trust, and support, even in the smallest gestures like warming up the car on cold mornings. That’s what good looks like to me.”

Based in London but regularly visiting Nashville for sessions, Harleymoon has felt compelled to make music since childhood. It was only natural given her family: her father is actor and Spandau Ballet legend Martin Kemp, her mother is Shirlie Kemp of Pepsie & Shirlie and Wham!, and the TV presenter / recent BRIT Award host Roman Kemp is her brother.

‘What Good Looks Like’ was co-written by Harleymoon Kemp and solo artist Lloren, with production handled by Charlie T (known for his work with Calum Scott and Jax Jones). Kemp’s commitment to honesty and authenticity shines through in her music, as she channels her personal experiences into relatable storytelling. She describes the EP as “little movies,” capturing moments in time that she never wants to forget.

With her debut EP on the horizon, Harleymoon Kemp is poised to make a lasting impression on the country music scene, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into her world through heartfelt, soulful storytelling.
