Decca unveils Record Store Day 2024 releases

Decca Records has unveiled its range of releases for Record Store Day 2024.

From the blueprint pioneer stoner rock ofĀ Leaf Houndā€™sĀ 1970s debut album toĀ Blue Note Re:imagined,Ā celebrating Deccaā€™s jazz legacy with contemporary new versions;Ā Ā Ludovico Einaudiā€™sĀ elegantly chilled classical piano toĀ Sir Tom JonesĀ anthemĀ “Itā€™s Not Unusual”Ā and the upbeat rock n roll ofĀ “Twist & Shout”Ā byĀ Brian Poole & The Tremeloes –Ā we have a snapshot of a label which completely transcends all genres.Ā 

These wonderfully eclectic and historically important recordings will be releasedĀ exclusivelyĀ onĀ Record Store Day from 20th April 2024Ā to wholeheartedly support independent record shops across the UK.

Leaf Hound

The iconic albumĀ ‘Growers Of Mushroom’, released in the UK in 1971, is often cited as one of the pioneers of Psychedelic Rock. Recorded in just one day, this incredible body of work is being released once again, in all its glory. The original Decca record is incredibly rare and was voted the number one most collectible rock album inĀ QĀ magazine This limited edition cloudy yellow re-press for RSD is essential to any rockers collection!

Blue Note Re:imagined

‘Blue Note Re:imagined’ was first released in 2020, featuring fresh takes on music from the illustriousĀ Blue Note RecordsĀ vaults recorded by a heavyweight line-up of the UK jazz, soul, and R&B sceneā€™s most hotly-tipped rising stars, including Jorja Smith, Jordan Rakai, Ezra Collective, Poppy Ajudha and more. The beautiful recording ofĀ ‘The Royal Albert Hall Concert’Ā is being pressed on limited edition red vinyl for the very first time. Best known for his enchanting piano music, Einaudi has been influenced by many genres including pop, rock – and more – which have been beautifully woven into his work.Ā  Originally released in 2010 to commemorate Einaudiā€™s outstanding performance, this live album has become a favourite amongst fans and underscores his vast repertoire.

This vibrant and upbeat rock ā€˜nā€™ roll cover ofĀ ‘Twist And Shout’Ā has since become one of their best-known hits. Pressed for the first time on 7ā€ vinyl since its release in 1963, this beautiful clear vinyl is a ā€˜must haveā€™ item in any music- lovers collection.
