‘Mean Girls’: trailer arrives for the stage musical adaptation

‘Mean Girls’ is returning to the big screen but it’s not that sequel we’ve all been waiting for – it’s an adaptation of the hit stage musical based on the original film.

Directed by Arturo Perez Jr. and Samantha Jayne, and from the mind of Tina Fey, ‘Mean Girls’ retells the classic story in a new way. The film stars Angourie Rice, Auliā€™i Cravalho, ReneĆ© Rapp, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Christopher Briney, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, with Tina Fey, Tim MeadowsĀ and Jon Hamm.

New student Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) is welcomed into the top of the social food chain by the elite group of popular girls called ā€œThe Plastics,ā€ ruled by the conniving queen bee Regina George (ReneĆ© Rapp) and her minions Gretchen (Bebe Wood) and Karen (Avantika). However, when Cady makes the major misstep of falling for Reginaā€™s ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels (Christopher Briney), she finds herself prey in Reginaā€™s crosshairs. As Cady sets to take down the groupā€™s apex predator with the help of her outcast friends Janis (Auliā€™i Cravalho) and Damian (Jaquel Spivey), she must learn how to stay true to herself while navigating the most cutthroat jungle of all: high school.

‘Mean Girls’ will be released on 17th January 2024 in cinemas. Take a look at the new poster below:
