1. Jurassic Park (1993)
Could any other instalment really have topped the chart? ‘Jurassic Park’ completely redefined what a blockbuster is, pushed the boundaries of special effects at the time and remains one of Steven Spielberg’s finest films. Based on Michael Crichton’s book, the film was a genuinely thrilling watch with star turns from Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Even watching it now, all these years on it keeps us on the edge of our seats. The storyline follows the opening of a new attraction containing cloned dinosaurs that goes haywire putting the lives of everyone in danger. Anyone else still panic the kids are going to get eaten in that kitchen scene?
