On the latest episode of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, the celeb recruits were push hard both physically and mentally before the escape and evasion phase began.
The penultimate episode focused on units. At the opening the celebs were split into two teams. Alexandra and James became team Alpha, with team Bravo made up of Wes, Ore and Aled.
The first challenge combined the teams with Ore as leader. Together they had to carry a 95kg boat over 2 miles of boggy terrain. It took several tries to find an effective way to work together. They eventually made it to a remote Loch where the next challenge began.
This saw the two teams take on an exercise to capsize the boat, flip it the right way and then recover team members and equipment. Both teams managed to complete the exercise but Bravo had a slightly easier time due to more members.
The DS (Directing Staff) took a couple of issues with Wes due to his attitude. This ended up with Bravo being made to sit in the freezing water as punishment. Wes was later brought in for questioning and Ant grilled him on his background. He advised Wes to commit 100% to the course or be dropped.
The next challenge was a team race up a cliff face. The celebs had to climb to the top before the next teammate could go. Team Bravo excelled but Alexandra really stuggled for Alpha. In the end James was told to climb up and help her. He managed to impress by motivating her and getting them both to the top.
Back at base, the DS decided it was time to bring James in for questioning. He spoke of his struggles with losing his confidence after suffering a terrible accident. It had left him with a brain injury which also led to the breakdown of his marriage. Foxy and Billy were impressed with his progress on the course and told him to keep it up.
Next the celebs were given the option of watching messages from home. They all decided to accept the messages which gave them a boost. As expected it was emotional and Alexandra seemed to be affected by it the most. She spoke to her brother about how much she missed their mother who sadly passed a few years ago.
As the celebs settled down for evening meal the DS raided their bunker and captured them at gunpoint. They were driven to a remote location and given set rendezvous points to navigate to. This was done under the cover of darkness and the celebs had to carry out this task while evading a hunter force. Team Bravo made the mistake of sticking to the road and were quickly captured. Alpha managed to evade the hunters by going the wrong way but eventually got back on track and made it to the first rendezvous point.
On with just five recruits remaining from the original 12. But who has the strength to make it to the end?
Armed with just a compass and a map, the five recruits are on the run from a specialist hunter force who are trying to track and capture them. The aim is to make it to an extraction point.
If captured, the recruits will face the most psychologically demanding of all the phases, interrogation, where they are hooded and exposed to white noise, and face brutal tactical questioning from a specialist team of interrogators. The psychological pressure proves too much for some, and not all five complete the course.
