Walter Presents is bringing ‘A French Case’ to Channel 4 and C4 Streaming this month.
The series stars Guillaume de TonquĆ©dec, Laurence ArnĆ© and Guillaume Gouix, and it’s created by JĆ©rĆ©mie Guez and Alexandre Smia.
This gripping French production is a collection of drama mini-series inspired by major French criminal cases which shocked the nation and divided public opinion. The first season tells the story of one of the most high-profile cases in Franceās recent history, the murder of little Gregory. It starts in October 1984, when Christine Villemin receives a disturbing phone call informing her that her 4-year-old son Gregory has just been kidnapped.
Unfortunately, Gregoryās body was found in a nearby river later that evening, leaving his family devastated, angry and desperate to find answers. Given the shocking nature of the case, dozens of reporters from all over France plague the village and it soon becomes a national affair. In a race against time, the police focus their investigation on an unknown person named āThe Crowā, who had been harassing the Vellemins with anonymous phone calls and letters for years.
As far as the police are concerned, this is an open and shut case: if they find The Crow, theyāll have their killer. However, as more evidence is uncovered, it seems that there is more to this case than meets the eye.
To this day, the murder remains unsolved.
Walter Presents: ‘A French Case’ will launch on Channel 4 on Sunday 21st January 2024 at 11.30pm. The full boxset will be available to C4 Streaming from Friday 19th January.
