Explore each construction tab, there is more there than you think
As you progress you will unlock new technologies enabling you to build stronger structures. It took me a long while to notice where to actually find these new methods, I’d even come to the conclusion at one point that perhaps these hadn’t actually been introduced yet given the early access nature of the game. It turns out that I’m an idiot and hadn’t been paying attention.
I will use doors as an example. To start with you can only build a basic door until you unlock the right tech. Once unlocked, when you go back and click on the door tab you may notice a small window appear next to it, this is where you will find your new building options.
