To mark the release of this important track, in association with CALM Charity, Freddie and Ben shared the story of Hope with us.

Myself and Ben linked up through a producer that we were both were working with at the time, JarJ music. In the first session we sat down and Ben shared his story of a close friend going through tough times, which lead his friend to contemplate suicide. This story took me back as I’ve also shared a few moments with close friends who’ve been going through hard times and dealing with mental health issues. Within the first session, the base of the track was down and we had a clear idea of the message we wanted to get across.

We’ve recently launched a social campaign called #ShowMeHope, you’ll be able to find it on both of our Instagram accounts. The idea of #ShowMeHope is to get people involved in the campaign and help share the message around this issue. We’re encouraging people to upload a photo or send in one of them holding a piece of paper with the words, #ShowMeHope. We’re then put all the photos together behind the track and release it online. We decide to hit the streets of London one afternoon and actively chat with people about this issue. It struck me back to hear peoples stories about losing friends to male suicide, and how many there were. We’ve uploaded a short trailer of ours day out, you can find it on social media. Please help us spread the message. #ShowMeHope

Hope is a track we wrote for the people to encourage a more open, honest and compassionate environment for us to talk/listen to each others struggles. I nearly lost a very close friend to a suicide attempt last year and I was none the wiser of the pain he was experiencing!

I believe we are currently in a crucial time for our generation – The digital age although offering so much convenience has taken away the ability for people to truly connect, feel heard by their peers and experience the present moment without always comparing their experience to others.

In a time where narcissism is rewarded, status is priority and image rules we are beautiful on the surface but anything but inside. I hope this record can shine a light on the struggles we all face, encourage people to speak out and MOST IMPORTANTLY be present and listen to others when they do voice their pain.

Hope is available to download and stream now.
