Nick Lowe has released Trombone, a new track from his upcoming Love Starvation / Trombone EP released on 17th May 2019.
A collaboration with Los Straitjackets, Lowe’s Trombone celebrates the brass-infused pop music of the 1960s with his signature craftsmanship and wit. Take a listen below:
The trombone on the song is played by Duane Benjamin (Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations), and was arranged by Jimmy Vivino of Conan O’Brien’s Basic Cable Band. Trombone follows the unveiling of the EP’s other title track Love Starvation, which arrived earlier this year.
The four-song EP will also include original track Blue on Blue plus a cover of the Phil Spector-produced Raincoat in the River. Love Starvation / Trombone is Lowe’s second consecutive release with Los Straitjackets after 2018’s Tokyo Bay / Crying Inside.
Nick Lowe’s Quality Rock & Roll Revue Starring Los Straitjackets is currently touring across North America. They will be in the UK in May and June for an extensive tour.
