In the latest episode Max’s (Richard Gere) actions led to civil unrest as people took to the streets to protest against him and his media empire following the murder of Jahan’s (Danny Sapani) son.

An indignant Max doubled down and forced Lauren (Pippa Bennett-Warner) to run a controversial story about Angela (Sarah Lancashire) to boost her campaign. It also looked like Max may be starting to wonder if he’s done the wrong thing to throw his weight behind Angela after one of her rallies looked more like a cult.

Elsewhere Sofia (Elena Anaya) decided to leave Max so that their unborn son didn’t end up becoming his father, and Kathryn (Helen McCrory) tried to convince Caden (Billy Howle) not to confess his sins so he could avoid going to prison.

The episode ended with Kathryn being whisked away from Maggie’s (Sinead Cusack) wedding after being summoned by Max. He made her an offer to run his media empire and right the wrongs that had been committed but she walked away insisting she would rather watch him burn down in flames along with his newspaper.
