Jessie Buckley, the star of British drama-country-musical film Wild Rose, will perform at Black Deer Festival this summer.
The news comes as Wild Rose arrives in cinemas and it will be the first chance for fans to see Buckley perform live anywhere during the summer. She will perform songs from the film’s soundtrack.
Black Deer co-founders and promoters Gill Tee and Deborah Shilling commented, āWeāre absolutely thrilled to welcome the wonderful Jessie Buckley to Black Deer Festival. The music and culture this festival celebrates is rooted in authenticity and spirit and Jessieās powerhouse performance in Wild Rose has this in spades. Country and Americana has never been more relevant and weāre delighted that Wild Rose is shining a light on the amazing singer/songwriters out there. Thereās something very real about this music and it needs to be heard.ā
Gritty, inspirational and heartwarming, Wild Rose embodies country music in its purest form with Jessie Buckleyās character Rose-Lynn Harlan seeking out understanding and belonging as a modern-day outlaw. Hailed as āIrresistibleā by The Telegraph and āWonderfulā by The Hollywood Reporter, the filmās themes resonate on every level with the ethos and aesthetic of Black Deer festival, and stands as yet another testament to the UKās growing toe-tappinā feelings towards the immersive lifestyle and genre.
