Kathryn (Helen McCrory) and Max (Richard Gere) went to war with surprising consequences on the latest episode of MotherFatherSon.

As Max started an investigation into his own company to try and save the potential fallout from being exposed, Kathryn began unpicking the tangled web that had been left around her and Caden (Billy Howle) by her ex-husband.

Kathryn learned some shocking truths about her own family but decided to press on anyway by arranging an interview with Maggie (Sinead Cusack) and Nick (Paul Ready). The interview was interrupted by Max who arrived with a file of incriminating evidence against Caden that threatened to make him the fall guy for Max’s wrongdoings.

Elsewhere Max’s move against Jahan (Danny Sapani) resulted in the Prime Minister’s son being attacked at his university. The episode closed as he lay on the ground after being stabbed.
