The third episode of The Walking Dead season 9 saw tensions rise at the bridge repair site.

If you’re not up to date with The Walking Dead and like to avoid spoilers we suggest you don’t read any further.

With Saviours seemingly disappearing at random, their group began to get worried and demanded guns so they could protect themselves. Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and his group refused to let them have any and said he would ensure they were protected.

Rick and his group split up and went in search of clues. Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Daryl were the ones who had the breakthrough of who was responsible. A harpoon spear led them to a group of Oceansiders who were taking revenge on Saviours who had taken their loved ones previously.

Elsewhere, Anne (Pollyanna McIntosh) was followed by Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) to the junkyard. It was revealed that she was talking to another community and that she had previous traded people for supplies with them. She wanted Gabriel to join her and leave for the new group. When he refused she knocked him out.

At the end of the episode, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) told Daryl (Norman Reedus) that she was tired of doing things Rick’s way. It looks like she wants to go and kill Negan.

The next episode is The Obliged. Rick’s vision of a civilised future is threatened by a sudden reckoning with past sins that remain unavenged and unforgiven.
