Melissa McCarthy’s comedy Life of the Party will be released on DVD on 17th September.

The film will arrive slightly earlier on digital, 2nd September. Life of the Party is directed by Ben Falcone (Tammy) and it stars Gillian Jacobs (Community), Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids), Julie Bowen (Modern Family), Matt Walsh (Veep), Molly Gordon (Love the Coopers), Stephen Root (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates), Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), Jessie Ennis (Better Call Saul), Adria Arjona (True Detective), Debby Ryan (Jessie) and Jimmy O. Yang (Silicon Valley).

When her husband suddenly dumps her, longtime dedicated housewife Deanna (McCarthy) turns regret into reset by going back to college… landing in the same class and school as her daughter, who’s not entirely sold on the idea. Plunging headlong into the campus experience, the increasingly outspoken Deanna – now Dee Rock – embraces freedom, fun and frat boys on her own terms, finding her true self in a senior year no one ever expected.

The screenplay was written by McCarthy and Falcone, who produced Life of the Party through their production company On the Day Production. Chris Henchy also produces with David Siegel as executive producer.

The DVD includes a special feature titled ‘80s Party.
