Cash Campbell releases debut single Cannonball

Singer-songwriter Cash Campbell has released his debut single Cannonball – and there’s an unusual story behind the creation of the song.

“While we were in the process of writing ‘Cannonball’, I had an intense dream that formed the foundation of the lyrics. If everything came crashing down, but you still have the person you love… you can make it,” said Campbell. “For me, the song brings to life a message of how powerful love is and it’s been really encouraging to hear what it means to fans.”

The song is a mix of traditional Texas country and electronic dance music, and is already climbing the charts. It’s currently in the top 40 of the Music Row chart and is rising up Billboard’s Country Indicator chart too.

Campbell is also releasing a brand new track, Gravity, to digital streaming platforms today, along with a video filmed in New York City.

Originally from Dallas, Campbell started out singing in a small-town choir and several different rock-focused bands. However, he’s recently been working with Swedish composer Peer Alstrom (who has previously worked on the soundtrack to Glee) and Nashville-based musician Chris LaCorte to create his current sound.

Campbell’s songs have received over 17 million streams and downloads across multiple platforms, and his music has been featured on Spotify’s Wild Country and New Alternative playlists. He has also been featured on MegaCountry, Sweety High and the POPSTAR, who said he ‘Opens his Southern heart to the world, writing songs based on his own experiences.

Adding a sonic twist of electronic beats to his musical style, his fresh, new sound is getting major love all around the world”. Campbell spent time on the road opening for Granger Smith on select dates in 2017 and recently appeared at the hugely popular Live in the Vineyard Goes Country mini-festival in the Napa Valley region of California.
