The complicated relationship between Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) and her criminal mastermind father Raymond Reddington (James Spader) will continue as The Blacklist has been renewed for season 6.
The crime drama, which has enjoyed a creative resurgence during its fifth season, will be back for a 22-episode sixth season starting later this year. The current season is still airing in the US and the UK but is due to end in the coming weeks.
The Blacklist has had a little bit of an overhaul this season with Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) being killed off, setting a mystery in motion as Liz tries to track down his killers and get revenge. Her father Reddington has been getting in her way throughout the season as he follows his own agenda in an attempt to get a duffel bag of bones back.

The show recently threw fans a curveball when it was revealed that Reddington had a secret daughter, meaning that Liz has a sister she knew nothing about.
The Blacklist premiered in 2013 and has built a loyal following across its five seasons so far. Alongside Spader and Boone the series stars Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold. Harry Lennix, Amir Arison, Mozhan Marnò and Hisham Tawfiq.
In 2017 a spin-off, The Blacklist: Redemption, was launched with Ryan Eggold moving over to lead the show. After failing to draw a big enough audience, the show was cancelled and Eggold moved back to The Blacklist for a handful of episodes during the fifth season.
Fans should find out the contents of the missing duffel bag by the end of season 5 so we expect a new mystery will start in season 6.
The Blacklist airs on NBC in the US and Sky 1 HD in the UK.
