Lucas (Brendan Robinson) appeared to be at the heart of all the Liars’ problems on the latest episode of PLL.

Is that you A.D.?
Everyone and their mother, apart from Hanna (Ashley Benson) believed that Lucas was A.D. this week. All signs pointed to Hanna’s rich and geeky friend when Spencer (Troian Bellisario) stole a flash drive from Detective Furey (Nicholas Gonzalez) – more on that later – that showed Lucas admitting to the police that he wasn’t Hanna’s alibi on the night of Charlotte’s (Vanessa Ray) murder and that the other Liars could be capable of anything.
Lucas spent the episode looking pretty dodgy. First he was seen clutching the comic book that Aria (Lucy Hale) handed to A.D. and then he was seen looking suspicious in The Radley by Hanna. He was caught by all of the liars searching through the contents of his apartment and they confronted him about what he was really up to.
Turns out Lucas was concerned about a second comic book that had never been completed because it continued his first comic book’s revenge storyline, only this time turning everything into a game. Lucas claimed not to have known that Charlotte was Charles and worried that he may have fed Charles all of the information he needed to torture the Liars.
As he left the apartment Lucas also admitted to Hanna that he invested his own money in her business and that there were no investors. Realising she’d lost him his fortune, Hanna apologised but he told her she was worth it. In the final moments of the episode A.D. was seen looking through the missing comic book and he/she was drawing the next part of the story.

Covering tracks
Spencer had a very bad week. First she was hauled into Rosewood PD (again) to be interviewed about using Archer’s (Huw Collins) card to pay for drinks on the night he went missing. She tried to evade all of the questions but freaked out afterwards when she called the Liars together. Realising that she was the reason why Spencer got drunk and made mistakes that night, Hanna stepped in to save the day and offered to team up with Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) to get the receipts so they couldn’t prove Spencer had used Archer’s card.
Despite a warning from Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer went over to Detective Furey’s and tried to cry her way out of trouble. When it didn’t work, she saw an opportunity to take a flashdrive with Lucas’ name on it and that proved to be the confession that Lucas wasn’t Hanna’s alibi. That panicked her even more and when Detective Furey called her, she used their meeting in his apartment as a way to get him off her back. Hanna and Caleb came good on their promise by flooding the room where the receipts were kept so that the police couldn’t prove anything.
After a temporary moment of relief, Spencer was hauled back to Rosewood PD where Detective Furey promised to open his investigation to include all of her friends. It seems he’s determined to take the Liars down.
Hanna’s turn
Hanna’s turn came round on the game and she had to retrieve a drive from a repair shop. With Caleb assisting, Hanna completed the task and Caleb searched the hard drive before they handed it over. All that was on it was a Patsy Cline song, which brought back memories from the dollhouse. After depositing the hard drive in a locker at the school, Hanna left Emily and Alison (Sasha Pieterse) to keep an eye out for A.D.
The two women were too busy talking but when they heard a noise they pursued someone. Alison was knocked over on the stairs and whoever it was escaped. Emily helped Alison up and the two returned home.
It was soon revealed that Mona (Janel Parrish) was the person who they had pursued in the school and she told Hanna she was annoyed to still be on the outside of the group.

Little Hooded Liar
Aria continued to do A.D.’s bidding and committed some of her most shocking acts yet. While Emily and Alison were at the school, Aria was told to vandalise the nursery at Alison’s house. She spread blood all over and destroyed the room but was interrupted when Emily and Alison returned home. Aria made a quick escape then returned to the house to meet her friends, who were trying to make sense of what was happening.
Spencer found one of Aria’s ear-rings on the floor, making her suspicious of what her friend was up to. Aria had also cut her arm while making her escape earlier and kept it clutched so no one noticed. She also almost slipped up by announcing the drop off point for the hard drive before A.D. had given any instruction.
Her latest task for A.D. saw her miss Ezra’s (Ian Harding) press event and when she returned home, she broke down into tears.
Family time
Emily and Alison took a big step forward this week. After surprising Alison by organising a nursery in the house, Emily started to become bossy and overprotective when Alison forgot to take her prenatal vitamins. A chat with Spencer made Emily worry that Alison was using her again so she took her frustration out on Alison. Later the two women chatted and Alison told Emily she loved her and wanted them to be together as a family to raise the baby. It looks like that Emison reunion is on!
