Olivia (Kerry Washington) tried to right the wrongs she’d committed against Cyrus (Jeff Perry) on the latest episode of Scandal.

Released from prison after being cleared of all charges, Cyrus was reluctantly thrown back into the spotlight as the Electoral College were due to make a decision as to who should be President; him or Mellie (Bellamy Young).

Olivia told Mellie it was the end of the road for her campaign and advised her to concede to Cyrus but Liz North (Portia de Rossi) convinced Mellie to keep campaigning. It was revealed that Liz was working with Theodore Peus (David Warshofsky) and he had bought off the Electoral College so they would all put their support behind Mellie.

Horrified, Mellie tried to remove herself from the situation but Peus and his side-kick (Zoe Perry) killed Liz right in front of her. Shaken and upset, Mellie called in Olivia and Jake (Scott Foley) to clean up the mess.

Meanwhile Rowan (Joe Morton) pleaded with Olivia not to help Cyrus get elected as it would result in Peus killing him. Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) went against Olivia’s wishes by arresting Rowan and putting pressure FBI Director Webster (Saycon Sengbloh) to drop her investigation into Olivia.

Furious Olivia confronted Fitz but the two reconciled romantically and agreed to take Peus down together when Olivia discovered Fitz had brought Rowan to the White House.

The next episode of the season is Mercy. Just when Peus seems to have a tight grip on Olivia and everyone she holds dear, a threat to the White House turns everything on its head.
