Supergirl 2×13 Mr. & Mrs. Mxyzptlk preview

Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) was the focus of the latest episode of Supergirl after reconnecting with her mother Lillian (Brenda Strong).

On Kara’s (Melissa Benoist) advice, Lena went to visit her mother in prison prior to her court case and learned that she was actually a Luthor and the result of an affair her father had. At the court hearing Corben (Frederick Schmidt) caused chaos and freed Lillian after receiving a package of synthetic Kryptonite.

Video footage surfaced of Lena stealing Kryptonite and she was arrested by Maggie (Floriana Lima) and imprisoned. Corben broke Lena out of prison and took her to her mother, but not before facing off with Guardian (Mechad Brooks), who failed to stop him.

Kara was upset when Alex (Chyler Leigh), Winn (Jeremy Jordan), J’onn (David Harewood) and James didn’t support her assertion that Lena was innocent. With the team against her, Kara set out to prove her friend’s innocence.

Lillian had Lena freed so she could use her handprint to access a remote facility set up by Lex before he was imprisoned. Inside it was a stockpile of alien weapons and when Supergirl arrived to help Lena, she was weakened by one of the weapons.

Winn realised that Corben’s kryptonite was going to explode and kill Supergirl. Lillian and Hank (David Harewood) escaped before the blast and Supergirl just managed to save Lena.

Elsewhere in the episode Kara finally came clean to Mon-El (Chris Wood) about her feelings but they were interrupted by the arrival of Mr. Mxyzptlk (Peter Gadiot).

The next episode of the season is Mr. & Mrs. Mxyzptlk. A magical imp called Mr. Mxyzptlk arrives on Earth and wreaks havoc on National City when Kara doesn’t reciprocate his feelings.
