Suits resumed its sixth season this past week and Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and Louis (Rick Hoffman) struggled to cope following Jessica’s (Gina Torres) departure.
Ignoring the fact that they would have to decide who was going to be Managing Partner, Harvey and Louis set about getting the firm back on its feet. Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) made them an offer to merge but Louis took it as an insult and tried to poach Zane’s associates and his biggest client with help of Katrina (Amanda Schull) and without Harvey’s knowledge.
Louis eventually backed off when Zane caught wind of what he was doing and confronted Harvey, resulting in a blow-out between the two colleagues.
Harvey meanwhile was furious with Mike (Patrick J. Adams) for not taking his offer to work as a consultant. Mike decided he wanted to help people instead but soon found that getting a job when you have a criminal record isn’t easy. He managed to secure a teaching job through the church but he lost it after a couple of days when a parent complained about his criminal past.
Donna (Sarah Rafferty) appealed to Harvey to try and help Mike get back on his feet and Harvey went to Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope) for a favour. She refused to help him or Mike, and paid Mike a visit causing more friction between him and Harvey.
Elsewhere Rachel (Meghan Markle) considered a job offer from her father but turned in down in favour of a second year associate job offer from Louis.
The next episode of the season is The Painting. Harvey decides to make amends with his mother. Mike receives an unexpected job offer at a legal clinic as supervisor.
