It was The X Factor 2016 final tonight and the remaining contestants, 5 After Midnight, Saara Aalto and Matt Terry were battling it out for the crown. All three contestants were very deserving of being on that stage and performed their hearts out. It was a spectacular show and everyone was good.

Judges Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh were all supporting their finalists and were joined by Simon Cowell, who was there to offer impartial advice. The night included a performance from Louis Tomlinson, who honoured his late mother and  also singing tonight was American starboy, The Weeknd.

The finalists performed their duets with Clean Bandit, Louisa Johnson, Adam Lambert and judge, Nicole. The night wasn’t complete without a medley by this year’s most controversial contestant, Honey G.

When it came to it the public vote had the final say and it meant it was time for boy band 5 After Midnight to leave The X Factor 2016. The boys sounded brilliant tonight but the competition was tough. Tonight’s comments included praise from Nicole and Sharon, who said that there was a lot of energy coming from the stage. Simon said it was a fantastic performance and mentor Louis added that they deserved to be there and win.

It’s the end of the road for now.

The X Factor winner will be revealed tomorrow night at 8pm on ITV.
