Liz (Megan Boone) was exonerated after Red (James Spader) forced Laurel Hitchin’s (Christine Lahti) hand on the latest episode of The Blacklist.
Red kidnapped The Director (David Strathairn) and threatened to turn him over to the Venezuelan authorities who could charge him for war crimes. The threat gave Red leverage to strike a deal with Laurel through Marvin Gerard (Fisher Stevens) but Laurel wouldn’t drop the charge of manslaughter against Liz. Red advised Liz to take the deal as it exonerated her, allowed her to avoid jail and would declare her innocence to the world. The manslaughter charge carried a 3 year probation and meant Liz would no longer be able to be an agent.
Elsewhere in the episode Tom (Ryan Eggold) delivered Karakurt (Andrew Divoff) to the federal courthouse, Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) stepped down as head of the task force giving the title back to Cooper (Harry Lennix), and Red met with Hitchin to discuss involving him in the Cabal.
The next episode of the season is Mr. George Devry. Having finally been exonerated, Liz finds it hard to readjust to life outside of the FBI.
