After spending the summer hoping that Haley (Sarah Hyland) and Andy (Adam DeVine) would get together, Modern Family threw us a curveball.
The show returned in the UK last night for its seventh season it was revealed that Haley didn’t stop Andy from proposing to his girlfriend. The result of that was Andy becoming engaged and gaining a lot of weight after learning that Haley had feelings for him. The two eventually talked about their feelings but decided not to do anything about them.
Elsewhere in the episode Mitchell (Jess Tyler Ferguson) began painting after getting a DUI leading Cam (Eric Stonestreet) to try and gently nudge him into getting a new job. Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) started looking for pre-schools to send their son to but found out that it was going to be harder than they thought.
The next episode of the season is The Day Alex Left For College. Phil and Claire are feeling snubbed by their kids. The rest of the family invent an elaborate excuse to avoid Lily’s soccer game.
