Fifth Harmony interview

Fifth Harmony have been crafting their sound and style since appearing on The X Factor US in 2012.

Following their increasing success in the US, the girl group have set their sights on cracking the UK and at the weekend their latest single Worth It featuring Kid Ink hit the UK Top 5. On Friday Fifth Harmony released their debut album Reflection in the UK marking the next step of their UK invasion.

We caught up with Camila, Ally, Lauren, Normani and Dinah to talk about the album, find out when the girls will be coming to tour in the UK, and to find out how their recent headline North American tour went.

Hello ladies! How are you today? How are you enjoying your time in the UK?

Camila: Our time in the UK was SO fun! It was so busy but we got to be there for a lot longer than our last trip so it feels like we really got to experience the city, hang out with some amazing people and just fun.

You recently performed at G-A-Y and pulled a surprise on Normani for her birthday. How was the show?

Ally: The show was amazing but the crowd was what made it so fun. We didn’t know everyone here knew our songs but everyone in the crowd was singing every word!

Your new single Worth It featuring Kid Ink is coming out soon. Tell us the story behind the song and the collaboration.

Normani: We were introduced by the producers Stargate and were ecstatic to have him on the track. He was the missing piece to it and are so thankful for this collaboration.

Your album has just arrived in the UK. How excited are you?

Lauren: Yes! July 10th and we canā€™t wait for everyone in the UK to hear what weā€™ve worked so hard on.

You recently completed your headline tour in the US. What was that like and which city would you say had the best audience?

Dinah: It was amazing to get around to each city and meet our fans. The energy in each city was crazy but I’d say that LA and Miami were the most fun to play because the crowds were crazy. Can’t wait to get back on tour.

Do you have any plans to bring your tour over to the UK in the near future?

Ally: We would love that and see it happening very soon. Our UK fans are incredible and we’d love to tour around here for them.

Youā€™re one of the most feisty and exciting girl groups in the music industry at the moment. Which groups and artists have inspired you the most over the years?

Normani: I think we can all agree that Destiny’s Child is a huge inspiration for us. They were fun and beautiful and inspirational. They really paved the way for us.

Camila: We each have our own personal inspirations as well but as a group we all also love Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Adele also.

What else do you have coming up this year?

Dinah: We have our album dropping in the UK this year (out now), going back on tour in the US and hopefully traveling a lot more.
